Aloha Everyone!
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! Elder Golden and I actually had a really great one! Skyping the fam was really fun! I couldn't ask for a better Christmas present :) We had a lot of laughs and had a good time! Bishop had us over to Skype, and then we also ate with his family afterward, which was really cool. They also invited Jose over for Christmas dinner, which made it even better! Jose is the man. He's a convert of just over a year. He was born in Mexico, but grew up in Austria and other European countries and speaks 7 different languages!
Our Christmas sacrament meeting was combined with the Spanish ward and consisted of the singing of many Christmas songs from a choir, the primary, and the congregation. There were also a couple of talks, one in Spanish and one in English, that both had translators. It was a really awesome meeting and it was really cool seeing the chapel so full!
Sergio's daughter was married in the Portland temple this week, and we were able to attend her reception held at Sergio's place December 23rd! It was a great way to celebrate Festivus ;) We got to meet a lot of people, both members and non-members of the church. Afterward, we biked home in the pouring rain and we were completely soaked by the time we got home. We might as well have jumped into a pool. My backback was soaked, which made me worried. I reached inside and felt that my scripture case was wet. Crap. But when I opened my scripture case I found that my scriptures were perfectly fine! It was a Festivus Miracle!!
