One Month Down

It has now been over a month since I reported to the MTC. Crazy to think about. This has been a pretty good week. I was finally able to get my hands on a guitar and play for some people at a dinner. That was really good. I miss playing music so much!

Ah, but life is good. There is a guy we are teaching, Colin, who is progressing really well. We've had a lot of great lessons with him and he's been coming to church quite a bit. We've scheduled him to be baptized Nov. 14, and things are looking good.

I gave my first priesthood blessing today to a lady who had the stomach flu. I wasn't expecting it and I was a little nervous, but it went well. I also gave my first talk out here this week. I was asked to speak on a hymn and I chose to do it on Ye Elders of Israel. It's a song that I had never really cared much for before my mission, but it really grew on my at the MTC.

We helped a lady on the side of the road change her tire. That was the first time I've ever done that. Learning new things ever day!

Stay positive and love your life!

Week 2 in Barstow

Another good week here in Barstow.

It's really neat how a lot people here have some really crazy stories when you get to know them. One of our people we see is from Compton and had 18th street gang after him, which is one of the most dangerous gangs there. There was one point where he was standing up strait hiding behind a telephone poll while Bullets were flying past him. Crazy Crazy stuff. Luckily he's been part of whiteness protection and is doing great now.

We had some investigators with baptismal dates that were going to come to church with us, but weren't able to for some pretty legitimate reasons. That was kind of a bummer, but we remain hopeful!
